What is the kimbo?

 The word Kimbo means in the Arabic language the style or method of the fist, and in the Chinese language, Xuan Fa

The kimpo is considered the father of martial arts. The history of kimpo dates back to BC in Shaolin Temple, after Boda Dharma arrived there and began teaching monks with a skill called 18 hands and the basis of all martial arts. When he died in forty years, a monk defended his disciples from the temple after it almost fell into the hands of bandits and after it was crushed To them, the monks asked him to teach them this method, which he called in the Chinese (Xuan Fa), which means the fist method, and in Japanese it means kimpo.

 After several decades, this art flourished into nearly 400 martial arts and remained in China under the name Xuan Fa. It also made its way to Japan. During 800 years, this art expanded and spread in Japan with its translation into Kimbo.

With the beginning of the twentieth century, his way to Hawaii, America, began through James Matthews, who added his own style of kimpo karate, while his student William Chu Fiqk was responsible for the great transfer of kimpo to the common people and introduced the methods of his family to the kimpo to form the art of Kara is kempo and one of his most famous students Edmund Parker inaugurated His own hall two years after obtaining a black belt, and celebrities trained with him such as Elvis Presley and Steve McQueen, and Parker chose methods from Kara Ho Kimbo until he achieved his own style American Kimbo Karate

From the above, we can say that the kimbo has three original schools: the Chinese school, the Japanese school, and the American school

The International Kimbo Federation was established in France and the headquarters moved. It is currently headed by the American Jeff Speakman, the famous actor and president of the American Kimbo Federation. Its membership includes more than 70 countries around the world, including the Arab countries, including Morocco, Egypt, Tunisia, Algeria, Iraq, Syria, Kuwait and Yemen.

Kimbo methods range from hand and fist techniques, knee and leg techniques, in addition to throws and subtractions, competitions on the floor and others on the boxing ring, real and fake fighting methods, and methods with tools and weapons, and others without.
